This fast paced multi-media experience is informative, exciting, and life changing. Our team of speakers are some of the top mobilizers in the country, having ignited vision and passion for the world Christian movement in hundreds of thousands of students and adults. Seminar Overview

NVision is a powerful seminar designed to help Christians discover what God is doing in the world, why He wants them to participate, and what is now needed to reach the nations. The seminar consists of four 50-minute fast-paced, multimedia presentations from a passionate missions mobilizer on the four components of world evangelization. The seminar includes interactive notes, Power-Point presentations, video clips, small group discussions, Q&A, bookstore and more.

  Biblical
God's desire and purpose on earth is to redeem all people. Learn to look at life and the world from God's perspective. You will find out that from Genesis to Revelation, the Word of God is really a mission book with one concurrent theme-God using man to reach all nations.

  Historical
Hear the inspiring life stories of great pioneer missionaries who have gone before us. They have left behind their legacy as examples of commitment, faith, and vision. You will be challenged by their lives to start making a difference in the world of Jesus Christ.

  Cultural
Over 6 billion people today inhabit the earth. Approximately one-third of those have no access to the gospel. Gain understanding of the cultural demands and implications for the Church today and learn just what it will take to reach theses peoples of diverse languages, customs, and beliefs.

  Strategic
Whether you are a student, layman, church worker or homemaker, God has a role for you. You were meant to participate in reaching the world for Christ. Not only will you learn how to turn these truths into a lifestyle, but you will take with you the necessary tools and resources to pull it off.

Our Vision & History

Vision

NVision, formerly known as Day of Discovery, was developed by Steve Shadrach, founder of Student Mobilization. Steve saw a need to help students and other believers discover God's biblical passion to reach all tribes, tongues, and nations with the gospel. While missions has been one of many themes which have been emphasized by the American evangelical movement, world evangelization is not a prevailing priority among believers in the United States. An opportunity exists to serve churches and campuses throughout the country by presenting four lively and engaging 45-50 minute sessions which thoroughly reveal our biblical, cultural, historical and strategic role in worldwide saturation of the gospel.

While evangelical believers are generally aware of missions as a priority of the church, a huge vacuum exists when considering how to connect Americans to God's passion for reaching the nations. Presenting the heart of God to reach every nation will inspire a new level of excitement and purpose.

One of the hurdles to igniting Americans with world vision is their busy schedules and their latent belief that "missions" is a boring and threatening subject. Past experience may hold encounters with missionaries with whom they are not willing or able to relate. In order to "inject" God's mission vision into His beloved people, a calculated plan for exposure is critical. NVision can be part of that plan.

History

Dr. Steve Shadrach, former Missions Pastor and founder of Student Mobilization, took the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course at the U.S. Center for World Missions in the summer of 1985. He then started and facilitated several Perspectives courses until 1995, when he and his family moved to Ukraine to pursue mission efforts abroad. Upon his return, he began developing a one-day condensed version of the semester-long Perspectives course. He took the main four parts of the course (Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic) and created a note taking/resource notebook along with a PowerPoint presentation and video clips to provide believers with a hard-hitting multimedia journey into the heart of God. Churches, Christian colleges, campus ministries, church and parachurch staffs, and mission conferences have benefited from this dynamic presentation seeking to help Christians become "World Christians" with God's perspective and heart for the nations.

NVision is recognized as part of the Perspectives family www.perspectivesfamily.org

How It Can Be Used

Churches

This is an excellent tool to educate and mobilize your congregation for missions. The seminar is helpful because it is extremely difficult to communicate the vast concept of world missions from the pulpit. We are able to go much more in depth with our teaching and small group interactions. Want to train your short-term missionaries? Try an NVision seminar!

College Ministries
Want to take your students to the next step in becoming 'World Christians?' NVision will get them fired up about world evangelization, and often spurs on 'world prayer' groups and missions involvement.

We are working with Every Ethne and The Traveling Team, our sister ministries that are mobilizing college students all over America. If your students have been impacted by these powerful ministries, the NVision seminar is an excellent follow-up tool that goes further into the Biblical basis of missions, and then into the Historical, Cultural, and Strategic aspects of world missions. NVision may also lead to a Perspectives at your university!

Community
If you feel your church cannot host its own NVision seminar or you want to mobilize your city for missions, then consider co-sponsoring the seminar with other local campus ministries or churches. We have had much success with multi-church seminars and campus/church sponsored seminars.

Perspectives Recruitment
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a powerful 16-week course which is our nation's leading resource in developing life-long World Christians. NVision is a condensed Perspectives course designed by Steve Shadrach. This seminar will help you motivate and encourage people to make the longer commitment of a 16-week Perspectives course. www.Perspectives.org
Missions Conference
This is a great seminar to use during a missions conference at your church or parachurch ministry. This can be a time to not only stir up excitement and vision among your people, but also show them practically how to get involved in the Great Commission.

Short-Term Missions Training
What better time to solidify a big picture perspective on God's plan for world evangelization? Use this as an annual training event for your short-term missionaries.

Staff Development
We have had the opportunity to make this a staff training event for churches and other ministries. If you want your missions committee, laymen or staff to get more in-depth training about foreign missions and what a 'World Christian' is-have an NVision seminar.

Tim Feaver

ACMC, Northwest Director (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment)

"NVision is the best one-day overview of world missions I have experienced. In six hours, you'll go away seeing how God has worked throughout history and what we need to be aware of today as we continue to take His Gospel to the world. If you're serious about world missions, and you want to get others involved, NVision is right for you and your church."

Mark Lewis

The Navigators, South-Central Regional Director

"God has uniquely equipped The Bodybuilders ministry to encourage world vision to students and those working with students. The NVision seminar is a concentrated antidote to apathy for God's great heart for the nations. This will also lead many more to attend the rest of the seminar after getting a small taste. For a large NVision seminar in a community, it is not uncommon to have a group of six or more churches and ministries hosting together. We will work with you to provide recruiting materials and strategies to help you have a powerful, life changing seminar. Click here for ideas on recruiting.

Optional Finance Models

For Churches:
Some churches do not have the budgeted funds for the seminar, but still desire to educate and impassion their congregation. In this case, you may choose to have a seminar fee for participants. Examples range from $10 to $20. Discounts for students and couples are helpful.

For Community or College ministry based seminars:
If you are the point person bringing this seminar to a community or college campus and you have no funds at your disposal, you will probably need to charge participants. It is still a good idea to find churches that will co-sponsor the seminar for speaker expenses, notebooks, and scholarships. Christian businessmen are also great investors in seminars and can play a strategic role in mobilizing students and adults for the Great Commission.
